Probes have different service lives depending on their application location and properties. The service life of GKS is related to parameters such as spring force, whether it is below or beyond the recommended working stroke, lateral load, current load, and external influences (such as pollution and thermal effects). Regular inspections can prevent downtime and extend service life.
The following suggestions can help you check the spring probe and ensure the reliability of the test:
1. Piston wear
Mechanical wear will reduce the service life of the probe. The deeper the intrusion at the detection point and the higher the spring force, the more severe the wear will be. Lateral load will increase the wear of the coating and shorten the service life of the probe.
2. Regularly clean the probe
You can use a cleaning pad to clean the needle with a pointed tip. All other shapes of needles should be cleaned with a brush or brush to remove dirt. Items such as solder residue and flux can adhere to the piston head, causing increased resistance and false errors. Be very careful when using a brush for cleaning. The lateral load applied to each probe during cleaning may cause permanent deformation of the piston. Meanwhile, metal bristles should not be used. It is best to use the corresponding probe cleaning pad. The cleaning pad is cut to the size of the test piece and placed in the fixture instead of on the test piece. When closing the testing fixture, the probe will pierce into the cleaning pad. The special ingredients of the probe cleaning pad will produce a cleaning effect. If the pollution is severe, this process can be repeated several times.
3. Comply with mechanical and electrical data as well as temperature ranges! Only in this way can the reliable testing and service life of the spring probe be guaranteed.
4. Use matching installation and plugging tools
Only through the best assembly of needle sleeves and probes can the smooth detection of electronic components be ensured.
