On December 12th, according to media reports, the iPhone 18 Pro series will be equipped with the A20 Pro processor for the first time. This chip will be manufactured using TSMC's 2nm process, and the price of the chip will increase from the current $50 to $85, an increase of up to 70%. With the rise in costs, the final selling price of the iPhone 18 Pro may increase.

The report also stated that the price of processors manufactured by TSMC for Apple cannot be confirmed, but it is certain that with the continuous advancement of new manufacturing processes, TSMC's manufacturing prices are bound to rise, which will help increase TSMC's revenue.

Previously, it was reported that the price of TSMC's 2nm wafers exceeded $30000, while the current price of 3nm wafers is around $18500 to $20000, indicating a significant price difference between the two.

According to data, since TSMC entered the 7nm era, wafer prices have skyrocketed, with each wafer costing over $10000 and 5nm prices reaching as high as $16000.

In October of this year, flagship chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek switched to TSMC's 3nm process, driving up terminal prices and triggering a wave of price increases for mobile phone brands.

Semiconductor industry insiders predict that due to high prices for advanced processes, chip manufacturers will inevitably pass on cost pressures to downstream customers or end consumers.苹果手机.png
