On November 4th, Kuai Technology reported that Apple has officially launched three M4 chipsets, but the highly anticipated M4 Ultra chip has not been unveiled.
However, well-known whistleblower Mark Gurman recently revealed that Apple plans to release the M4 Ultra next year.
Gurman also predicts that Apple will be the first to apply this powerful M4 Ultra chip on Mac Studio in the first half of 2025, specifically between March and June
In the second half of 2025, it is expected to see new Mac Pro models equipped with this chip, providing users with a better computing experience.
It is reported that the M4 Ultra will have up to 32 cores of CPU and 80 cores of GPU, doubling its specifications compared to the existing M4 Max chip and providing more powerful performance.
The M4 Ultra will also provide improved Apple Intelligence and ray tracing technology for Mac Studio and Mac Pro for the first time to enhance graphics rendering effects.
In addition, through a unified memory architecture, Apple allows programs to access memory resources from the same resource pool.
With the new M4 Mac starting at 16GB, game developers will be able to use larger memory space, resulting in significant improvements in visual effects and performance.
This also explains why Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be released on Mac in 2025, and what's even more exciting is that ray tracing and frame generation technologies will be integrated into this ported version.
